Using a Sunderer to get infantry through a shield.
« on: December 04, 2012, 12:18:26 pm »
You can drive a Sunderer with a Negative Phasing Shield Generator through an enemy shield and park it with the back still sticking out the back of the shield. That will allow infantry to get in the sunderer at the back outside the shield and exit the sunderer inside the shield. Combine it with a second Sunderer with AMS and Proximity Repair System next to it and you can have a steady stream of infantry pouring through the shield.

Screw the Sunderer, just use a Vanguard!

Genius. :)

Alternatively they could have used that gigantic engineer gun on the right - look at the size of it! (I bet it still overheats in 5 seconds) :)

You can actually pass over this shield as any class by using the ramp-like structure reinforcement you can see on the left of the picture.
Usually, the balcony facing it is overcrowded though, so anyone passing his head over the shield is immediatly down. You need some vehicle HE support to clear it out first.

We tried this last night and it worked. Zukhov lead a group of 12 of us, we crashed their shield with his Sunderer and got absolutely mashed as soon as we got in. We need to crash all 4 exntrances at the same time, if we are to survive the experience.

That is why you need to leave the back of it sticking out of the shield and have another repair Sunderer next to it. And engineers repairing it from the outside. And M60 Bulldog's installed.
